An All-Ages Halloween Cake Decorating Event in Tigard, Oregon

Sunday, October 18 | 3–5 p.m.

Calling all cool cats! Join us at Cake Hoopla for a spooky-sweet afternoon of cake decorating, fresh popcorn, spooky sips, and Halloween fun.

Come on your own or bring your favorite decorating partner! Each ticket includes one cake and admission for up to two people to decorate it together. Make it a parent-and-me Halloween outing, bring a friend or partner, or keep the whole cake to yourself!

Here’s what’s waiting for you:

🐈 Black Cat Cake Decorating
Follow along with an instructor as you transform a 6-inch, three-layer cake into your own black cat creation. You’ll frost the cake , add ears and other details, and personalize your cat’s face. Make it sweet, silly, sleepy, spooky, or anything in between! No cake-decorating experience necessary.

🍿 The Cat’s Meow Popcorn Bar
Enjoy fresh popcorn with a selection of fun Halloween mix-ins while you decorate.

🍹 Spooky Sips
Each attendee gets a spooky non-alcoholic specialty drink, with the option for guests 21+ to make theirs boozy.

📸 Cool Cat Photo Spot
Show off your finished black cat cake and snap some Halloween photos before you head home.

🎃 Come as a Cat!
Add some ears, whiskers, a cat nose, a tail, or go all-out with a full cat costume! Every attendee who comes dressed as a cat will be entered into our Cool Cat Drawing for a $25 Cake Hoopla gift card. If both people sharing a ticket dress up, you’ll each receive an entry!

This event is designed for kids and adults alike. Whether you come for a parent-and-me afternoon, a Halloween date, a get-together with a friend, or some solo cake-decorating fun, all cool cats are welcome!

Ticket Details

Each ticket includes one cake and admission for up to two people to decorate that cake together. Both attendees can participate in the decorating, enjoy the popcorn bar, and receive their own spooky drink.

If two attendees would each like to decorate and take home their own cake, please purchase two tickets.

Cancellation Policy

Your booking can be canceled up to 5 days before the event. If you need to cancel your booking with less than 5 days' notice, you will be issued an electronic gift card equal to the price of your booking. No-shows will not be refunded.

Cake Care Instructions

Store leftovers in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month. To avoid color changes, store the cake/cupcakes out of direct light.

Cakes/cupcakes are best consumed at room temperature. Remove the cake/cupcakes from the fridge 1 hour before serving, or from the freezer 2 hours before serving, to bring them to room temperature.

Do I need any cake-decorating experience?

Not at all! Our Cake Decorating 101 classes are designed specifically for beginners. Whether you've never decorated a cake before or simply want to improve your skills, our instructors will guide you through each step in a fun, supportive environment.

What should I bring to class?

You do not need to bring any decorating supplies. We provide the cakes or cupcakes, frosting, decorating tools, supplies, and take-home boxes. Just come ready to decorate, learn new skills, and have fun!

What age are the classes designed for?

Our Cake Decorating 101 classes are recommended for adults and kids ages 10 and older. Younger decorators may enjoy our family-friendly events, birthday parties, or Cake Camps.

Can two people decorate together?

Usually, yes! Up to two students may share one cake or set of cupcakes and decorating supplies. If each person would like their own project to decorate and take home, please reserve a separate class spot. Sharing supplies is subject to availability. Check the class booking page for details.

Do I get to take my cake or cupcakes home?

Yes, unless you choose to decorate a practice cake during our
Vintage Cake Piping & Writing class. You'll leave with your completed cake or cupcakes in a sturdy box so you can safely transport and enjoy your creations at home.

Are all supplies included?

Yes. We provide everything you'll need, including decorating tools, frosting, sprinkles, ingredients, and packaging. You don't need to purchase or bring any special equipment.

Which Cake Decorating 101 class should I take first?

While each class stands on its own, we recommend beginning with Part 1: Stacking, Filling & Frosting, then continuing with Part 2: Vintage Cake Piping & Writing, and finally Part 3: Easy Buttercream Flowers. Together, the three classes provide a strong foundation in beginner cake decorating.

What if I've already taken one of these classes?

You're always welcome to join again! Many students repeat classes to build confidence, refine their techniques, and practice new decorating designs.

Where are the classes held?

All classes take place at Cake Hoopla's studio at 7173 SW Dartmouth St., Tigard, Oregon, conveniently located just minutes from Portland, Beaverton, Tualatin, Lake Oswego, Sherwood, and Wilsonville.

Do you offer private cake-decorating lessons?

Yes! If you'd prefer one-on-one instruction or want to focus on a specific decorating technique, we also offer private cake-decorating lessons. Contact us to learn more or schedule a lesson. We also offer to-go cake-decorating parties for mobile cake decorating at your location.

Can I buy these classes as a gift?
