Bring Cake Hoopla to your celebration with a mobile cake or cupcake-decorating party in the Portland metro area.

Our mobile cake and cupcake-decorating parties are a fun mobile birthday party activity for kids, teens, and adults. They're also perfect for school events, summer camps, daycare programs, scout groups, employee appreciation events, team-building activities, and celebrations of all kinds.

We prepare the decorating kits, and you bring the party. Host your event at home, at school, at the office, at a park, community center, or another location that works for your group.

How It Works

  1. Book Your Date
    Click “Book Now” to select your party date and event details. Choose between cakes or cupcakes and tell us your desired theme—whether it’s a favorite character, team colors, or even a company logo.
  2. Reserve Your Spot
    Place a refundable $150 deposit to secure your date. This deposit goes toward your final total. After booking, we’ll contact you to finalize design details and kit quantities.
  3. Pick Up & Pay
    Pick up your cake/cupcake-decorating kits at our Tigard studio or ask about Portland-area delivery. Pay the remaining balance when you arrive, then take everything you need for decorating fun.
  4. Decorate & Celebrate
    Each guest receives a pre-packed kit with baked treats, colorful frosting, fondant, sprinkles, tools, and a to-go box for their creation. Cleanup is a breeze with single-use containers.

If you’re choosing cake kits, each guest will decorate a 3-layer, 6-inch cake that typically serves 10 to 12. Cakes come pre-frosted in white vanilla buttercream—the perfect blank canvas for bright frosting, fun fondant, and playful sprinkles.

Can I customize the party theme?

Answer:

Yes, we encourage it! We can customize your cake or cupcake decorating experience around themes, colors, characters, celebrations, or branding.

Are vegan or gluten-free options available?

Answer:

Yes. Vegan chocolate and gluten sensitive fetti cake and cupcake options are available. Because items are prepared in a shared kitchen, cross contamination is possible.

Cancellation Policy

A $150 deposit is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be collected when you pick up your order.

Orders must be canceled with at least 10 days' notice to be eligible for a full refund. If canceled with less than 10 days' notice but more than 2 days' notice, event credit will be issued.

Cancellations within 2 days of the event cannot be refunded.

Any changes to the order details (like the number of cakes) should be communicated to Cake Hoopla by email at hey@cakehoopla.com or by phone at 971.610.6530.

Due to short notice, it may be difficult to make changes to your order within 2 days of the order pickup. But we'll try!

A Hoopla Helper can deliver your party kits, handle setup, and even guide guests through a live decorating demo—perfect for schools, summer camps, corporate events, larger celebrations, or any event where you'd like an extra set of hands.

What We Bring:

Cake Care Instructions

If you're not quite ready to decorate, store the cake/cupcakes and ingredients in the fridge. There is no need to refrigerate fondant or sprinkles.

Cakes/cupcakes are best decorated at room temperature. Remove the cake/cupcakes and ingredients from the fridge 1 hour before decorating or serving to bring them to room temperature.

If frozen, let the cake/cupcakes and all ingredients thaw to room temperature. This may take a few hours.

Store leftovers in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month. To avoid color changes, store the cake/cupcakes out of direct light.
