Build confidence with buttercream flowers in this hands-on cake-decorating class at Cake Hoopla, just outside Portland. This workshop is the third class in our Cake-Decorating 101 Series, but no previous classes are required! It’s a great fit for beginners, casual bakers, and anyone curious about learning professional-looking frosting techniques in a relaxed, supportive setting.

In this 90-minute cake-decorating workshop, you’ll learn how to pipe a variety of popular buttercream flower designs that instantly elevate cakes and cupcakes. We’ll cover techniques such as piping frosting roses using a flower nail, classic rosettes, mums, and other versatile designs you’ll actually use again at home. You’ll practice each technique step by step, with guidance throughout, so you leave feeling confident, not overwhelmed.

All tools, supplies, and ingredients are provided. Just show up ready to decorate, learn new skills, and have fun!

Your booking can be canceled up to 5 days before the event. If you need to cancel your booking with less than 5 days' notice, you will be issued an electronic gift card equal to the price of your booking. No-shows will not be refunded.

Cake Care Instructions

Store leftovers in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month. To avoid color changes, store the cake/cupcakes out of direct light.

Cakes/cupcakes are best consumed at room temperature. Remove the cake/cupcakes from the fridge 1 hour before serving, or from the freezer 2 hours before serving, to bring them to room temperature.
